Okay to warm up you because this is week one it’s totally different concept and all these crazy boot camps it’s time to shift gears slow the f down okay this is fundamentals it’s practice we’re going to try and get perfect at the lifts that are the best for fat burning and the lifts that are the best for building muscle okay bench press the king of upper body lifts that do both remember it’s your calorie setting that dictates what happens after you do this this is the gas pedal being pushed to the floor you decide to eat a ton of calories you’re going to build muscle you decide to reduce your calories you’re going to burn fat why because the gas pedal is pushed to the floor ask them questions in class do you really think that doing a banded bicep curl is going to deliver enough damage to your body and force you to recover for long enough that it equals the gas pedal being pushed to the floor to your calorie setting i’m in a calorie deficit and i just did a whole banded workout what’s that mean what is that going to do for you okay explain to them the benefits of the big body lifts it’s simple we learned it in school every action has an equal and opposite reaction so if we take a lift that uses the most area of the body look how much area of the body is that using how much area of the body is bench press using every action has an equal and opposite reaction so therefore you would think that that would cause a lot of damage because you’re using a lot more area of the body okay so that’s the difference between tighten up fitness and every other gym tell people the truth what happens after this depends upon your calorie setting that’s why anyone can hit any goal they want we have people here that gain a ton of muscle we have people here that lose a ton of fat how to explain that when we’re using the same exact lip okay so explain that to them in class why they’re doing bench press here’s what’s going to happen though in the warm up we are not going to do bench
